Therapeutic Reflections within Nature

Time spent in nature can make us feel better. We often feel more at ease or settled in woods, amongst trees, listening to birds, being with animals, feeling the wind on our skin, the rain or sun on our face.
I am offering individual therapeutic sessions in the woods and commons near Nailsworth, Gloucestershire. I find that the land and other-than-human species can provide a container and offer metaphors for the processes we are struggling with. The richness of wildlife can provide mirrors for us to see aspects of ourselves, gain a different perspective or hear ourselves more clearly. Noticing how trees within close proximity can support each other we may, for example, reflect on how we yearn for connection or support.
When on the land we tend to have more access to our instincts and senses, we may remember we also are animals. This process of coming more into our bodies is deeply healing. The natural world encourages us to use the right side of our brain more – opening doors to our creativity, our intuition and giving our busy, logical brains a rest.
By being in nature, with other species we also remember that we are inextricably interconnected with the natural world and dependent on it. We are not separate. Yet sometimes we forget this, causing a rift deep in our being. We have a reciprocal relationship with the other-than-human world and attending to this relationship is profoundly healing to ourselves, to other species and to the earth we call our home.
I will accompany you on this journey, as you navigate your way through your process, your heights and your depths and find ways to come home to yourself.
Each session is 1.5 hours long. You might want a one-off session or you may decide to explore this way of working in more depth and have a series of sessions.
Fee: £60. Concessions available, do please ask me if you would like a concessionary place.
